The Hamilton Tiger-Cats have signed American defensive lineman Micah Johnson to a one-year contract for the 2022 season.

The 33-year-old started 12 games at defensive tackle for the Saskatchewan Roughriders during the shortened 2021 schedule, registering 19 total tackles, eight tackles for loss, two sacks, one fumble recovery and one pass knockdown. Johnson has recorded 203 tackles, 47 sacks, six forced fumbles and two interceptions in the three-down league.

“Micah has proven throughout his career to be a dominant force in this league,” Orlondo Steinauer, president of football operations and head coach, said. “We’re excited to welcome Micah and his family to the city of Hamilton and the Tiger-Cats organization.”
