Veteran defensive lineman Avery Ellis is signing with the Montreal Alouettes, per source.
The 27-year-old has played the last four seasons with the Ottawa Redblacks, recording 129 tackles, 18 sacks, two forced fumbles, and one touchdown.
The native of Newark, N.J. product broke into the CFL in 2017 following a standout career at Temple.
Montreal has worked to overhaul its defensive line over the past year with additions including Nick Usher, Almondo Sewell, Mike Moore, and now Ellis.
