The Edmonton Elks have officially signed free agent linebacker Deon Lacey after he spent the 2021 season with the Saskatchewan Roughriders.
The six-foot-two, 229-pound defender appeared in 13 games and recorded 54 tackles during his tenure with the Riders where he played middle linebacker.
Prior to his time in Saskatchewan, Lacey played four seasons in the NFL (2017-20) with the Buffalo Bills and Miami Dolphins. He dressed for 53 regular season games and made 21 tackles. He had a previous stint in the NFL back in 2013 when he attended training camp with the Dallas Cowboys.

The West Alabama product was a member of the Elks for three seasons (2014-16) during which he made 114 defensive tackles, seven sacks, three interceptions, and four forced fumbles. He was a versatile member of Chris Jones’ defence back then and he will look to repeat that come the start of the 2022 season.
