A.C. Leonard, Micah Teitz status in doubt, Duke Williams limited for Riders ahead of West Final

With the West Final just two days away the Saskatchewan Roughriders are still uncertain on the status of three key players.

Neither A.C. Leonard nor Micah Teitz was at practice Friday, while Duke Williams was there but only for the walk-through portion.

Saskatchewan head coach Craig Dickenson says Leonard will be a game-time decision. The league’s sack leader this season hurt his hip in practice this week. In the West Semi-Final last week against Calgary, Leonard notched three tackles and recovered an onside kick at the start of the second half to help propel Saskatchewan to an overtime victory.

Dickenson stated that he believes Williams will play Sunday but that he is not 100 percent yet.

Williams caught all five of his targets in the West Semi-Final win over the Stampeders, picking up 55 yards in the victory.

As for Teitz, Dickenson said he was unlikely to play Sunday because of a foot injury. The former Calgary Dino picked up 5 tackles against his hometown team in the Riders playoff victory.

Teitz spent four seasons at his hometown University of Calgary where he made 111 unassisted tackles, 14.5 tackles for loss and seven quarterback sacks in 30 games played.

He won back-to-back Hardy Cup titles in 2016 and 2017 and played in the 2017 U Sports East-West Bowl. The Calgary native was a Canada West all-star in 2015 and 2017 and named U Sports All-Canadian in 2015.

The Riders head East to Winnipeg for a rematch of the 2019 West Final, Sunday at 4 pm ET.
