Baltimore Ravens sign former CFL QB Chris Streveler to practice squad

The Baltimore Ravens have signed former CFL quarterback Chris Streveler to their practice squad. In a corresponding move, the club also released quarterback Kenji Bahar.

Streveler was recently released by the Arizona Cardinals after completing 17-of-25 pass attempts for 141 yards, one touchdown, and one interception in two seasons with the team. He also rushed seven times for 21 yards. He made $628,094 in his first NFL season and was slated to collect $780,000 this year.

The dual-threat passer’s new team comes with a tinge of irony as he was released by Arizona after the club acquired quarterback Trace McSorley from the Ravens.

The 26-year-old threw for 2,698 yards in two seasons with the Winnipeg Blue Bombers along with 19 touchdowns and 19 interceptions. He rushed for 1,167 yards and 22 touchdowns averaging 5.7 yards per carry.

He was especially effective for Winnipeg during their 2019 Grey Cup run, rushing for 82 yards and a touchdown in the West Semi-Final in Calgary and throwing a touchdown pass to Andrew Harris in the Grey Cup.

The Ravens are led by former NFL Most Valuable Player Lamar Jackson, who is one of the league’s best dual-threat passer. His backup is Tyler Huntley, who went unselected in the 2020 NFL Draft and has seen action in just five career games, throwing for 273 yards and one interception.
