The Montreal Alouettes will have their top receiver back in the lineup for the East Semi-Final.

Despite concerns earlier in the week that Eugene Lewis would miss their playoff clash with the Hamilton Tiger-Cats with an adductor issue, the Alouettes have listed him as a starter on the weekly depth chart and head coach Khari Jones confirmed he will be ready to go Sunday.

The 28-year-old caught 62 passes on 105 targets for 964 yards and nine touchdowns this year, leading the team in three of those categories. He finished second in the CFL in receiving touchdowns behind only teammate Jake Wieneke.

Lewis had his first 1,000-yard season in 2019 when he caught 72 passes for 1,133 yards and five touchdowns over 18 games. He almost eclipsed those numbers in 2021 despite playing five fewer games and was named an East Division all-star for the second consecutive season.

The Oklahoma product was replaced by Dante Absher in Montreal’s regular season finale, which presumably would carry over to the playoffs if Lewis is unavailable.
