The Saskatchewan Roughriders are bracing for the worst diagnosis for Kyran Moore’s injured knee.

Moore was injured in the second quarter and head coach Craig Dickenson was told at halftime that he would not return. He was on crutches while watching the rest of the game from the sideline.

“We’re not optimistic about Swerve, unfortunately. His knee is stiffening up pretty good, so it’s something that’s probably going to keep him out a few of weeks if not more,” Dickenson said post-game.

The Riders medical staff was planning to take a closer look at Moore when the team travelled back to Regina. The 25-year-old has team highs with 64 receptions for 585 yards to go along with three touchdowns in 11 games this season.

“To have a guy like that go down, he does so much for us not only football-wise, but he brings a lot of energy to our offence, he’s always happy and smiling, so we’re going to miss that if he’s out long-term,” Fajardo said.

“It’ll be a big blow for our offence. Anytime you lose a guy the calibre of ‘Swerve’ it’s definitely going to hurt this offence. He’s a great ball player for us and he’s been Mr. Consistency for us all year when Shaq [Evans] went down and we were young in the receiving core.”

All of the green and white prairie province anxiously awaits the word on Moore’s knee.
