CFL fines four players following chippy Lions-Stampeders game

The CFL has issued four player fines stemming from last week’s game between the B.C. Lions and Calgary Stampeders.

B.C. Lions’ defensive lineman Josh Banks was fined for a blindside block on Calgary Stampeders’ offensive lineman Nila Kasitati.

B.C. Lions’ offensive lineman Sukh Chungh was fined for an unnecessary hit on Calgary Stampeders’ defensive lineman Shawn Lemon.

Calgary Stampeders’ defensive lineman Isaac Adeyemi-Berglund was fined for a high hit on B.C. Lions’ quarterback Michael Reilly.

Calgary Stampeders’ linebacker Jameer Thurman was fined for a high hit on B.C. Lions’ running back James Butler.

The Stamps dominated B.C. this past Saturday in Vancouver by a score of 39-10. Reilly was pulled from the game after passing for 145 yards and two interceptions with Nathan Rourke coming on in relief.

Bo Levi Mitchell had arguably his best outing of the year, completing 22-of-32 pass attempts for 270 yards and one touchdown. Canadian receiver Richie Sindani and Luther Hakunavanhu had big games for the Stamps, combining for nine receptions for 116 yards and a touchdowns.

The CFL also announced an additional fine from Week 10 with Toronto Argonauts’ defensive back Treston Decoud being fined for an altercation with fans at Tim Hortons Field following the team’s game against the Hamilton Tiger-Cats.

As per league policy, the amounts of the player fines were not disclosed.
