B.C. Lions’ receiver Lucky Whitehead will undergo surgery on Wednesday for a broken hand. The timeline for his return is two to four weeks.

The injury took place on a hit from Brandon Alexander in the team’s recent loss to the Winnipeg Blue Bombers. The receiver finished the game with a wrapped hand and wrist but he was clearly injured, finishing the contest with zero receptions.

Whitehead entered Week 9 as the leading receiver in the CFL, recording 36 receptions for 665 yards and four touchdowns. He also returned a missed field goal 119 yards for a score in Week 6 in a win against Ottawa.
