The Montreal Alouettes have lost a key piece of their offence, as quarterback Vernon Adams Jr. has left their Week 9 matchup with the Hamilton Tiger-Cats.

Adams Jr. appeared to injure his left ankle on a short scramble late in the first quarter. He walked off the field under his own power, but did not return for the next series. Backup Matthew Shiltz took over under center while Adams Jr. got the injury worked on, but the visibly limping starter had to be held back by staff as he tried to get back on the field a drive later.

After assessing the injury, the Alouettes have ruled Vernon Adams Jr. out for the remainder of the game.
