The star pass catcher was hurt on Cody Fajardo’s touchdown run early in Saskatchewan’s win over the Ticats on Aug. 14. He was making a block near the sideline when linebacker Simoni Lawrence fell on his leg, causing him to land awkwardly.
Head coach Craig Dickenson has previously indicated that a full recovery would take six-to-eight weeks.
Evans averaged 18.5 yards per reception in 2019, which established him as arguably the CFL’s best deep threat receiver. He recorded 72 catches for a team-leading 1,334 yards and five touchdowns in what was his first career 1,000-yard campaign.
He made eight receptions for 87 in two games early this season.
