The Edmonton Elks have activated quarterback Trevor Harris from the six-game injured list.

The move was announced on Saturday as the Elks took to Clarke Field for their second day of practice ahead of a matchup with the Ottawa Redblacks slated for Tuesday, Sept. 28.

Harris had been added to the six-game injured list back on September 16th with a neck injury. The veteran quarterback didn’t dress for Edmonton’s loss to Winnipeg in Week 7, but will be eligible to be on the roster when Edmonton travels to Ottawa early next week.

The move came as a surprise given that general manager Brock Sunderland recently indicated that there was “no timetable” for Harris’ return to the lineup. It was also reported that Taylor Cornelius would be starting this week against Ottawa, though that now appears to be in question.
