The Edmonton Elks could have former CFL all-star left tackle SirVincent Rogers in the lineup this week against the Winnipeg Blue Bombers, according to Dave Campbell.

Also OL SirVincent Rogers was on the field and working with the first team O-line group. Was on the six-game injured with a chest injury. Could be an option for Saturday.

Rogers was placed on the six-game injured list to start the season due to a chest injury. He later contracted COVID-19, though he was fully vaccinated and experienced only minor symptoms.

The 35-year-old signed with the Elks in February 2019 but missed the entire season due to a torn left tricep. If he makes his much-anticipated Edmonton debut this week it could be a nice boost for an offensive line that allowed seven sacks against Calgary on Saturday.

Winnipeg boasts the best pair of defensive ends in the CFL with Willie Jefferson and Jackson Jeffcoat, so having Rogers back in the lineup could help limit their pass-rush.

Rogers has started 87 games over his CFL career primarily at left tackle for the Ottawa Redblacks and Toronto Argonauts. He’s been named an East Division all-star three times (2015, 2016, 2018), a CFL all-star twice (2015, 2018), and the league’s Most Outstanding Offensive Lineman in 2015.
