A pair of Saskatchewan Roughriders have been booted from the Banjo Bowl after tempers boiled over late in the second quarter.
Halfback AJ Hendy and defensive tackle Garrett Marino were both disqualified from the remainder of the game after throwing punches. Both players are defensive starters for the Riders, a team that is already missing Louchiez Purifoy and Ed Gainey due to injury. Middle linebacker Deon Lacey also went down with injury in the first half.
The brawl sparked off after a Sean McGuire QB sneak touchdown gave Winnipeg a 12-9 lead. Six penalties were awarded for the melee.
