Cody Fajardo suffers apparent upper-body injury, returns to game

Cody Fajardo has left the Labour Day Classic after taking a shot from defensive end Jackson Jeffcoat and defensive back Deatrick Nichols.

The injury occurred after Fajardo took off running on a quarterback draw on second down. He appeared to be in pain after the hit as the trainers inspected his shoulder/neck area.

Fajardo was attended to by trainers and left for the sideline given that the Riders were facing a third down. He returned to the field for Saskatchewan next drive late in the second quarter.

If Fajardo had been unable to return to the game, he would have been replaced by second-year quarterback Isaac Harker.

The Winnipeg Blue Bombers lead the Saskatchewan Roughriders by a score of 7-4 in the second quarter.
