Calgary Stampeders remove Bo Levi Mitchell from six-game injured list

Calgary Stampeders have removed quarterback Bo Levi Mitchell from six-game injured list. He is now eligible to return to practice.

Mitchell suffered what turned out to be a fractured fibula on a late hit from former teammate Charleston Hughes during Calgary’s Week 2 loss to the Toronto Argonauts. He finished the game, but was placed on the six-game injured list after undergoing X-rays.

Typical recovery for a break of that nature is four-to-six weeks. Players on the six-game can be removed at any time, though the salary of players who are activated early is retroactively added to the salary cap for all games spent inactive.

Rookie quarterback Jake Maier played well in Mitchell’s absence, completing 46-of-68 pass attempts for one touchdown and two interceptions.
