The B.C. Lions have released Canadian running back Jamel Lyles from the practice roster.
Lyles was originally selected in the eighth round of the 2019 CFL Draft. The Surrey native saw his hard work and determination pay off when he was promoted to the active roster for seven regular season games in his rookie season.
He recorded eleven carries for 86 yards, three receptions for ten yards, and six kickoff returns for 114 yards in 2019. He dressed for two games in 2021 but did not register a statistic.
The six-foot, 210-pound back’s university career at Manitoba included Canada West Rookie of the Year honours in 2015.
