CFL all-star DL Dylan Wynn out for Ticats in Week 2 against Roughriders

CFL all-star defensive lineman Dylan Wynn has been placed on the one-game injured list by the Hamilton Tiger-Cats.

That means Wynn won’t play against the Saskatchewan Roughriders in Week 2. He did not finish the season-opener versus Winnipeg and missed practice all week with a calf injury, according to the league’s injury report.

The 28-year-old started 17 games for the Tiger-Cats in 2019, finishing fourth in the CFL and first among defensive tackles with a career-high 11 sacks. The six-foot-two, 283-pound native of Concord, California added a career-high 44 defensive tackles, three tackles for loss and two pass knock downs, and was named a league all-star.

Wynn signed a two-year contract extension in February 2020, which runs through the end of the 2021 season.

He has appeared in 44 career CFL games with 41 starts at defensive tackle over three seasons with the Toronto Argonauts (2017-2018) and Tiger-Cats (2019), recording 108 defensive tackles, 19 quarterback sacks and four pass knock downs.

The Oregon State University product is also a two-time East Division all-star (2018, 2019) and has appeared in two Grey Cup games (2017, 2019), winning one with the Argos in 2017.
