Riders sellout Mosaic Stadium for the 56th Annual Labour Day Classic

It would appear that football fans in Saskatchewan really missed the CFL.

One week after opening their 2021 season in front of a sold-out Mosaic Stadium, the  Saskatchewan Roughriders have announced their second sellout of the year. With three weeks to go until the 56th Annual Labour Day Classic, the Riders have run out of tickets.

The annual game, taking place on September 5th, matches the Green and White up against the rival Winnipeg Blue Bombers and is a time-honoured tradition  for fans of both teams.

“After an absolutely electric home opener last weekend, we can’t wait to have another sold out crowd for the Labour Day Classic,” said Chief Brand Officer Anthony Partipilo. “Rider Nation always proves to be the difference maker for us, and we know they will make a big impact in our quest to beat the Bombers.”

September 5th also marks the first Coors Light Party in the Park of the 2021 season. Fans are encouraged to come early and partake in all the festivities taking place before the game on Sunday which include inflatables, the 620 CKRM Rider Cheer Team and a performance by the Rider Flo Dance Crew presented by Engelheim Charters.

Fans may also wish to stay in their seat or head to the South concourse at halftime to catch a special performance by Saskatoon’s own Sheepdogs.

In 2019, the Labour Day Classic was the only regular season game that the Riders were able to announce a sellout, despite leading the league in attendance. They’ve now doubled that number early in 2021.

Despite that early success, plenty of tickets remain available for this week’s game on August 14 and the following week’s on August 21.
