The Toronto Argonauts have moved former first-round NFL draft pick Shane Ray to the six-game injured.
Per source, Ray is dealing with a finger injury and there’s a possibility it is broken. He might be able to play with a cast in the near future, though he may also have to sit out until the finger has fully healed.
Ray made his CFL debut in Toronto’s 23-20 victory over the Calgary Stampeders in Week 1. He started the game opposite Charleston Hughes at defensive end, though he did not register a statistic.
The six-foot-three, 245-pound pass-rusher played four seasons with the Denver Broncos (2015-18), recording 94 tackles, 14 sacks, and two forced fumbles as he fought through injuries. He recently warned highly-touted NFL players that the CFL should not be taken lightly as it’s a professional league with high-calibre talent.
The Argos are slated to take on the Winnipeg Blue Bombers at 8:30 p.m. ET on Friday at IG Field.
