Winnipeg Blue Bombers’ head coach Mike O’Shea briefly updated the status of injured veterans Andrew Harris and Darvin Adams following Monday’s practice at IG Field.

“(Harris) has (progressed),” said O’Shea in a videoconference. “I’m excited. He’s progressing well.”

The 34-year-old running back missed Week 1 with a calf injury after sitting out most of training camp. Winnipeg native Brady Oliveira started in his place and currently leads the CFL in rushing after scampering for 126 yards against Hamilton.

Adams went down relatively early in training camp with a shoulder injury and was unavailable the season-opening game. Kenny Lawler started in his place at boundary wide receiver and made four receptions for 69 yards and two touchdowns.

“(Adams is) looking good,” said O’Shea. “I’m expecting him to be feeling really good soon.”

O’Shea did not provide a concrete answer when asked if Harris and Adams will return to practice this week.

“I can’t say that for certain, but I know that they’re coming along,” said O’Shea. “The exact time? I’m not sure.”

The Winnipeg Blue Bombers opened their practice week on Monday following a 19-6 victory over the Hamilton Tiger-Cats in Week 1. They are slated to host the Toronto Argonauts (1-0) on Friday at 7:30 p.m. CT.
