The Winnipeg Blue Bombers selected offensive lineman Liam Dobson third overall in the 2021 CFL Draft on Tuesday night.

The Ottawa native had been dominant along Maine’s offensive line, starting at guard and tackle. He was the team’s highest-graded blocker in every game of the 2019 season and was named first-team All-Colonial Athletic Association. He has committed to Texas State for the 2021 season.

Dobson switched from defensive line to offensive line as a senior in high school at Canada Prep Academy. He played in six games and started one as a true freshman, adding 14 more starts as a sophomore, and 12 as a junior for the Black Bears.
