Former Riders’ receiver Rob Bagg to be inducted into Queen’s Football Hall of Fame

Queen’s University is in the process of announcing their Football Hall of Fame class of 2021 and it includes some familiar faces for CFL fans.

One of the inductees is former Saskatchewan Roughriders’ receiver Rob Bagg. He was one of Danny Brannagan’s favourite targets during the 2006 and 2007 seasons, catching 66 passes for 1,369 yards and ten touchdowns. His best game came against the University of Toronto during which he recorded 341 receiving yards.

The Kingston, Ont. native went unselected in the 2007 CFL Draft but hashed out an eleven-year career with the Riders during which he overcame a number of knee injuries. He retired in September 2019 having made 364 receptions for 4,705 yards and 24 touchdowns in 134 career regular season games.

Also being inducted into the Queen’s University Football Hall of Fame are offensive lineman Matt O’Donnell, receiver Scott Bissessar, and defensive back Jimmy Allin.

O’Donnell won the Vanier Cup with Queen’s in 2009 and was awarded the prestigious J. P. Metras Trophy in 2010. He was a second-round pick of the Saskatchewan Roughriders in 2011, but has played his entire CFL career with the Edmonton Football Team. He was named a CFL all-star in 2019 and is currently a free agent.

Bissessar played one season with the Calgary Stampeders in 1985, while Allin went unselected in the 2009 CFL Draft.
