With the Global Draft now in the books, the CFL has turned its attention to the 2021 National Draft slated for May 4 and fans just got their first taste of the crop of talent available.
The league unveiled the results from the National and Regional Combines on Thursday. Both events took place virtually in 2021 due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.
Invited players were asked to video record their performance in the height and weight measurements, bench press, forty-yard dash, three-cone drill, short shuttle, broad jump, and two specific positional drills. These videos were submitted to the league by Saturday, April 10 to have the numbers verified.
Players were also require to submit personal and medical information. The medical form included questions regarding the player’s medical concerns, medication, supplements, and allergies. A complete history of their injuries, including the nature of all injuries, the date they occurred, and the status of each one (resolved or treatment ongoing), was also required.
