Rod Pedersen: Chris Jones would ‘really like to get back into the CFL’

The host of The Rod Pedersen Show, Rod Pedersen has reported that Chris Jones wants to come back to Canada.

The 54-year-old spent the past two seasons in the NFL with the Cleveland Browns.

Pedersen reports: Jones guaranteed he’d be coaching in 2021 but it’s anyone’s guess where. He can land an assistant’s role in the NFL or NCAA with ease but I’m told he’d really like to get back into the CFL.

The Saskatchewan Roughriders improved their win total each year under Jones going from five wins in 2016 to ten in 2017 and twelve in 2018. He led the Riders to the playoffs in back-to-back seasons after the franchise failed to make the post-season since 2014.

Jones was named the CFL’s coach of the year in 2018. He is 53-37 as a head coach in Canada and won the 2015 Grey Cup with the Edmonton Football Team.
