Canadian linebacker Bo Lokombo signs with B.C. Lions

The B.C. Lions have signed linebacker Bo Lokombo to a two-year contract, per source.

The 30-year-old was released on Sunday by the Toronto Argonauts.

The Oregon product has recorded 155 defensive tackles, 68 special teams tackles, five sacks, four interceptions, and two forced fumbles over 76 career CFL games.

Lokombo was draft by the Lions in the third round of the 2013 CFL draft. Born in Zaire but raised in Abbotsford, B.C., he spent four seasons with the team (2014-16, 2018) broken up by a one-year stint in the NFL (2017).

He signed with the Montreal Alouettes as a free agent in February 2019 and started games for the team and linebacker and safety.

The Toronto Argonauts traded for him in January 2020, though he never dressed for the team due to the cancellation of the CFL season.
