The Brampton native ran by sophomore safety Lewis Cine and caught the perfectly placed throw by his quarterback. Metchie III finished with three catches for 50 yards and one touchdown. The true sophomore played a key role in helping free Jaylen Waddle for his 90-yard go-ahead touchdown. The Crimson Tide secured a 41-24 victory over the Bulldogs and improved to 4-0.

The touchdown was number three for Metchie III this season. His other two scores came against Texas A&M University when the six-foot, 195-pound burner hauled in five passes for 181 yards and two touchdowns. That was Metchie III breakout game. Head coach Nick Saban said following the 52-24 victory versus the Aggies: “We’ve always thought Johnathan is a real threat.”

The speedy Canadian keeps to proving his bench boss right. Metchie III touchdowns have come from 78, 63 and 40 yards respectively, instant impact plays in a blink for undefeated Alabama.
