Canadian linebacker Amen Ogbongbemiga knocked out of game against Kansas

One of the NCAA’s top Canadian players is out of action today after suffering what appeared to be a head injury.

Amen Ogbongbemiga collided awkwardly with a teammate in the third quarter of Saturday’s game against Kansas. The Calgary native was motionless momentarily before the leaving the field under his own power.

The six-foot-one, 230-pound linebacker has 22 tackles and one sack on the season. He was the third-ranked prospect in 3DownNation‘s first set of 2021 CFL draft rankings.

Ogbongbemiga enjoyed a breakout season at Oklahoma State University in 2019, recording 100 total tackles, 15.5 tackles for loss, five sacks, one interception, one forced fumble and one fumble recovery. He was the recipient of the Leslie O’Neal Award as team’s Defensive MVP.

Oklahoma State leads Kansas 41-0 in the third quarter.
