Duke Williams may be labouring on the Buffalo Bills practice roster, but that isn’t stopping him from making the highlight reel.
In Thursday’s practice, the former star of the Edmonton Football Team was matched up against former All-Pro corner Josh Norman and made a toe-tapping end zone catch that sent shockwaves through social media.

Williams had 12 catches for 166 yards and one touchdown — a game-winning TD in his NFL debut – in four games last season with the Bills. He made six receptions for 108 yards in Buffalo’s regular season-ending 13-6 loss to the New York Jets and was also a key factor in the team’s AFC Wild Card playoff loss.
Despite that early promise, Williams was not a part of the Bills 53-man roster cuts at the end of the 2020 training camp. After clearing waivers, Williams was signed to the practice squad as a crucial piece of COVID-19 insurance.
Former star CFL receiver Duke Williams scores game-winning touchdown in NFL debut with Buffalo Bills
The 27-year-old Williams caught 88 passes during the 2018 CFL season with Edmonton for a league-leading 1,579 yards and 11 touchdowns before signing in the NFL.
No stranger to adversity, Williams worked his way up from the practice squad before and looks like he could be a factor down the stretch for a promising Bills team.
