Patriots’ Canadian receiver N’Keal Harry absorbs nasty hit, somehow hangs on to football

New England Patriots’ Canadian receiver N’Keal Harry was lucky to avoid major injury, let alone hold on to the football.

In a Sunday Night Football match up against Seattle, defensive back Quandre Diggs flew in and delivered a helmet-to-helmet hit after Harry was targeted across the middle of the field.

Diggs was ejected for the nasty infraction. Somehow, Harry kept the football in his possession for a 13-yard gain on fourth-and-three, which moved the chains. That was one of his eight catches for 72 yards in the game. More importantly, the Toronto-born Harry stayed in the game and wasn’t injured on the play. Three plays later, Cam Newton scored a rushing touchdown for New England, however the Pats lost 35-30 in Seattle.

The 22-year-old Harry was selected in the first round, 32nd overall during the 2019 NFL draft out of Arizona State University. He played seven games as an NFL rookie and made five catches for 39 yards. Harry should be targeted more by New England in his sophomore season.

The Patriots and their fans were relieved to see Harry escape unharmed.
