Nolan provides the cadence: “Ready, down, set, hut!”

He let go a long throw.

“It worked — TOUCHDOWN!”

Six-year-old Nico went running off with his brother to celebrate and retrieve the tooth. Nolan is nine and plays quarterback in the Thunder Bay Minor Football Association.

During the COVID-19 pandemic, the dual-sport athletes were shooting 500 pucks per day while at home. Nico had teeth starting to come loose and came up with an idea for a hockey-style tooth extraction with a slap shot.

Mother Nicole recorded it to send to dad at work and put it on social media. It went viral as Sportscentre, ESPN, Hockey Canada and Barstool Sports showed off the creativity.

The throw for tooth fairy dough is sure to make the rounds.
