The Canadian Football League Players’ Association supports athletes around the world who are speaking out about racial injustice.
Milwaukee Bucks players boycotted Game 5 of their Eastern Conference first-round series with Orlando, which led to the postponement of five more NBA playoff games Wednesday and Thursday.
That was in response to Jacob Blake, a 29-year-old black man, who was shot seven times in the back from close range by a white police officer in Kenosha, Wisconsin on Sunday, August 23. He was walking towards the front seat of his car which had three sons inside, ages three, five and eight.

The CFLPAÂ stands with the NBPA, WNBA, NHLPA, NFLPA, MLSPA and MLBPAÂ and all athletes who are taking action for change, because enough is enough. We will continue to work with our Association and League to stand together against injustice, racism, and brutality, the three-down football union wrote on Twitter.
CFL commissioner Randy Ambrosie stated:Â We in the CFL stand with our players and athletes across North America when they say, and show with their actions and concern, that black lives matter. We will continue to work with CFLPAÂ to fight racism in all of its forms. #BLM.Â
The Toronto Argonauts, Ottawa Redblacks and Winnipeg Blue Bombers retweeted the CFLPA’s message, while every franchise put out statements supporting the movement.
