The Hamilton Tiger-Cats have signed American defensive back Channing Stribling.
The 24-year-old Stribling spent time with four different NFL teams after going unselected in the 2017 NFL draft, including the Cleveland Browns, Indianapolis Colts, San Francisco 49ers and Los Angeles Chargers.
He suited up in eight games with the Alliance of American Football’s Memphis Express in 2019, registering 17 total tackles, one tackle for loss, one interception and four passes defended. Stribling played five games for the XFL’s Seattle Dragons making 14 tackles, defending three passes, one tackle for loss and one interception.

The 6-2, 180-pound native of Matthews, North Carolina appeared in 47 games with 18 starts at cornerback over four seasons at the University of Michigan (2013-2016), posting 68 total tackles, four tackles for loss, one quarterback sack, six interceptions, 22 pass breakups and one forced fumble. Stribling was an All-Big Ten honouree in 2016 for the Wolverines.
Stribling was on the Ticats practice roster at the end of the 2019 season.
