Eskimos’ quarterback Trevor Harris wants to play until 45 years old with Tom Brady’s help

Edmonton Eskimos quarterback Trevor Harris has visions of playing in the CFL into his mid-40s.

Just like Tom Brady in the NFL and he’s enlisted the training methods of the six-time Super Bowl champion. According to TSN reporter Matthew Scianitti, Harris worked out at Brady’s TB12 Center in February.

“I was able to go work with [Brady’s] body coaches. It was fun to learn the sorts of things [Brady] is doing, and tinkering with the way I’m doing things in my off-season,” Harris said.

“I’ve had thoughts that maybe I want to play until I’m 45 years old. I feel that I could easily do that with the training that I have right now, the way I’m taking care of myself, and the support that I have from my wife and kids. I don’t know if I see an end in sight.”

Harris signed an extension with Esks in January. He originally signed in Edmonton as a free agent on February 12, 2019. That was a two-year contract which would have made Harris a free agent following the 2020 season. However, Harris adds two years to his existing pact, which takes him through 2022.

“[Brady] is just doing things that are different than everybody. I wanted to know why. I wanted to know what he is doing,” Harris said.

“And the fact that I was able to learn some things, and apply some things, and keep some things, has progressed me quite a bit this off-season.”
