Harper Jr. played two seasons at WSU in Pullman, Washington. He recorded 46 tackles, nine passes defended, one interception and one forced fumble in 17 games. The Hartwell, Georgia native suffered a torn rotator cuff in his senior season with the Cougars, ending his NCAA playing days prematurely.
The Houston Texans invited Harper Jr. to rookie mini-camp, but he did not receive a contract offer following the three-day close-up. That left him out of football for the 2019 season. However, the Lions have given the Harper Jr. the chance to compete for a roster spot.
