Jones signed a one-year contract with the Esks during free agency in February. The 30-year-old is a seven-year CFL veteran and two-time Grey Cup champion, winning with Edmonton in 2015 and Winnipeg last season.
In 76 career CFL games, Jones recorded 106 defensive tackles, 51 special teams tackles, two interceptions and one forced fumble.
Jones entered the league in 2013 with the B.C. Lions. He previously spent time with the Eskimos (2015, 2017-2019), Saskatchewan Roughriders (2016) and Bombers (2019).
