The Saskatchewan Roughriders have officially rounded off their coaching staff.

On Wednesday, head coach Craig Dickenson announced the hiring of Ben Olson as the team’s new defensive line coach. The Riders had been without a defensive line coach since the rest of their staff was announced. Mike Scheper previously held the role last season but was let go in July.

Olson is entering his first season with the Roughriders after spending the 2019 season as the defensive line coach at McNeese State University.

Olson has seven years of coaching under his belt, first as an undergraduate assistant at his alma matter, Eastern Illinois, before moving to Rose-Hulman as the linebackers’ coach. From there, Olson coached at Bowling Green, Syracuse, Colgate and Yale from 2013-2018.
