National defensive lineman David Menard has signed with the Montreal Alouettes.

The 29-year-old has spent the past six seasons with the B.C. Lions, recording 51 tackles, 17 sacks, and three forced fumbles in 94 games.

Menard was a member of the Montreal Carabins when the Lions selected him in the fourth round of the 2014 CFL draft.

Danny Maciocia coached Menard at the University of Montreal and has prioritized adding French-Canadian players to the roster.
