Anthony Coombs can now say that he’s been a part of every CFL team in Ontario.

The Canadian running back/receiver signed with the Ottawa Redblacks on the opening day for free agency after spending 2019 with the Hamilton Tigers-Cats.

Coombs played in 16 games in Steel Town last year where he ran the ball 37 times for 158 yards. The Winnipeg native added another 20 catches for 156 yards and two touchdowns through the air.

The former Manitoba Bison was coming off a season that only saw him play two games due to injury in 2018 as a member of the Toronto Argonauts.

Prior to that injury riddled season, Coombs was an effective part of the Argos offence, mostly as a receiver with 457 yards in 2017, 297 yards in 2016, 486 yards in 2015 and 214 yards in 2014.

Coombs is a former third overall pick out of Manitoba by the Argos in 2014.
