Riders sign former NFL receiver Rashad Greene

The Saskatchewan Roughriders have signed former NFL receiver Rashad Greene.

Greene joins the Riders after four seasons with the Jacksonville Jaguars. The 27-year-old was drafted in the fifth round, 139th overall during the 2015 NFL draft and played in 25 games for the Jaguars collecting 30 receptions for 185 yards and two touchdowns. He also had 41 punt returns for 448 yards with one touchdown on a 73-yard punt return.

Prior to joining the NFL, the Georgia native played four strong seasons at Florida State University. Throughout his career as a Seminole, he recorded 270 receptions for 3830 yards and 29 touchdowns, becoming the FSU career leader in receptions and receiving yards.

As a senior, he started in all 14 games and set a single-season record for receptions with 99 and had 1,365 receiving yards and seven touchdowns. He was named a Biletnikoff Award (nations best wide receiver) semifinalist and was selected second-team All-American and first-team All-ACC.

Greene is a 2013 BCS National Champion making nine receptions for 147 yards in the win against Auburn while leading the team in the regular season with 76 receptions for 1,128 yards and nine touchdowns. He was named first-team All-ACC and became the first Seminoles receiver since 2002 to finish with 1,000 receiving yards.

As a freshman in 2011 he was named MVP of the Champs Sports Bowl and in 2012 Greene was an honourable mention All-ACC.
