The Edmonton Eskimos have signed national offensive lineman David Beard to a three-year contract extension through the 2022 season.
Beard was set to become a free agent in February.
The Edmonton native and University of Alberta alum was originally selected by the Eskimos in the second round, 16th overall of the 2015 CFL Draft. In five CFL seasons, Beard has appeared in 71 games with 42 starts.
In 2019, the Esks offensive line gave up the least amount of quarterback sacks — nine fewer than the next closest team.
