Former CFL and NFL receiver Chad Johnson attended his first Ultimate Fighting Championship press conference and asked the notorious Conor McGregor a question.
“Saturday will be my first UFC match. I’m not a gambling man, but if there was an event where I would bet the house, it would be this Saturday,” Johnson said. “I wanna know before I bet this money, how confident are you in Saturday’s fight?”

“Welcome to the best show on air, the Ultimate Fighting Championship. We’re honoured to have you. I’m extremely confident if you can’t tell. I’m coming in with full preparation, full commitment and full confidence in my striking abilities and my shots. And who knows, maybe a submission? But, I’m going to be going for the knockout,” McGregor said.
The 42-year-old Johnson was an NFL superstar, playing 11 seasons, 10 for the Cincinnati Bengals. Johnson was named a first-team All-Pro three times and recorded 11,059 yards on 766 catches (14.4 yards per catch average) with 67 touchdowns.
Johnson was knocked out of the CFL after just one season. He played 12 games for the Montreal Alouettes during the 2014 season. Ochocinco recorded seven catches for 151 yards and one touchdown for the Als.
Throughout Johnson’s playing career he earned over $46 million, a small portion collected while in Canada. Let’s see if Johnson does ‘bet the house’ when McGregor steps in the octagon at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas with Donald Cerrone on Saturday.
