OL Jermarcus Hardrick agrees to terms on extension with Bombers

One of the most popular men in Bomberland will be back with the team in 2020.

Right tackle Jermarcus Hardrick has agreed to terms on a one-year contract extension with the Blue Bombers. He was set to become a free agent in February.

The 29-year-old joined the Blue Bombers in 2016 after brief stints with the NFL, AFL, B.C. Lions, and Saskatchewan Roughriders. Winnipeg became his long-awaited professional home after signing with the club as a free agent, starting 67 games over four seasons.

Hardrick was named a West Division all-star in 2017 and won his first Grey Cup ring in 2019. He has been a consistent performer on an offensive line that has been among the CFL’s best for the past four years.

The Nebraska product started jumping into the stands at IG Field following touchdowns in 2016, a celebration that would later be coined the ‘Hardrick Hop.’

It’s easy to see why Hardrick has become a fan favourite in Winnipeg given how much fun he likes to have on the field. Check out this compilation he posted on twitter less than a year ago — the man is pure entertainment.

Given his popularity, the news of Hardrick’s extension is sure to have fans in Winnipeg hopping with joy.
