Gabriel Dansereau of Merrimack College will be playing before a number of professional scouts this afternoon.

The Montreal native missed the 2018 season due to injury but has otherwise been a fixture on the Warriors’ defensive line since 2015. The six-foot, 265-pound defender has 65 tackles, 10.5 tackles for loss, and four sacks in 35 collegiate games.

The FCS National Bowl is played annually at Municipal Stadium in Daytona Beach, Florida with a focus on featuring players from small programs. A large number of NFL teams send scouts to the game with a number of past competitors reaching the professional ranks.

Defensive tackle isn’t a particularly deep position in the 2020 CFL draft class, so this is an opportunity for Dansereau to garner some attention ahead of combine season.

Wilfrid Laurier running back Osayi Iginuan is also participating in the game. The Hamilton native was a member of last year’s draft class and will look to drum up interest as CFL free agent.
