Riders release DL Earl Okine

The Saskatchewan Roughriders have released defensive lineman Earl Okine.

The 29-year-old played in six games making three tackles for the green and white. He signed with the Riders in July 2019.

Okine played in the now-defunct Alliance of American Football for the Orlando Apollos. He went unselected in the 2013 NFL draft, but spent time with the Arizona Cardinals, Detroit Lions, Kansas City Chiefs, Houston Texans and played five games for the Indianapolis Colts making five tackles in 2015.

There was an Arena Football League stint for Okine when he played 16 games for the Orlando Predators in 2014 recording 5.5 sacks.

Collegiately, Okine played for the University of Florida Gators suiting up in 29 games recording 27 tackles, one sack and a blocked field goal.
