The New York Giants have released receiver T.J. Jones.
Giants confirm Tauaefa promotion. Also they have activated Golden Tate. Wide receivers TJ Jones and Bennie Fowler cut to make room. Jones sealed his fate with the muffed punts. Fowler is a serviceable receiver, but only need so many players at that spot and Tate will eat up snaps https://t.co/1UANlsbKlV

The University of Notre Dame product made three catches for 38 yards and one touchdown plus eight punt returns for 96 yards — including a 60-yarder – but fumble three times, losing two in three games with the G-men.
Jones caught 12 passes for 146 yards and two touchdowns in the pre-season with New York. Due to his veteran status, Jones is not eligible for a practice roster spot with any NFL team.
Through parts of seven seasons, Jones has made nearly $4 million. Jones could have the makings of a CFL ratio-changer if he ever comes north of the border. The 27-year-old Jones would be a free agent for CFL purposes.
