Riders re-sign DL Chad Geter

The Saskatchewan Roughriders have re-signed defensive lineman Chad Geter.

Geter spent the 2018 season with the Riders making 17 defensive tackles, 17 special teams stops, three sacks and one forced fumble in 18 games. He was a final training camp cut by Saskatchewan in 2019.

The Montreal Alouettes added Geter where he played two games making one tackle and one special teams tackle prior to being released by the Als.

At Gardner Webb University, Geter was named an NCAA Football Championship Subdivision All-American as a senior linebacker making 118 total tackles, eight tackles for loss, six quarterback hits, two pass break-ups, one sack and one forced fumble.

After going unselected in the 2017 NFL draft, the San Francisco 49ers invited Geter to rookie mini-camp but a torn pectoral muscle ended his season.

Chris Jones and the Riders found Geter at a free agent camp in Charlotte, North Carolina last April.

Special teams are Geter’s specialty, it jumps out on film.
