With NFL cuts coming soon, let’s take a look at which former CFL players are most likely to stick with their new clubs down south.
NFL teams need to trim their rosters to 53 players by 4:00 p.m. ET on Saturday, August 31.
This list includes only players who were in the CFL last season, which is why long-time NFL players like Cameron Wake are not featured.

LB Samuel Eguavoen, Miami Dolphins
The former Saskatchewan Roughrider has been a breakout star with the Dolphins, recording 16 tackles in the preseason. He’s also done well at timing snap counts.

Eguavoen has made such an impression in Miami that some believe he will be in the club’s starting line-up in Week 1. For a player in his very first NFL training camp, the 26-year-old is doing brilliant work.
REC Marken Michel, Philadelphia Eagles
The speedy receiver has enjoyed a solid preseason, recording a 75-yard touchdown against the Tennessee Titans. The 26-year-old has NFL bloodlines with brother Sony currently a member of the New England Patriots.

The Eagles need depth at receiver and Michel is a prime candidate for at least a spot on the practice roster.
LB Alex Singleton, Philadelphia Eagles
Singleton has been all over the field for Philadelphia this pre-season, recording 11 tackles. Pro Football Focus has consistently graded the former CFL Most Outstanding Defensive Player as one of his team’s best defenders.

Singleton has always had an NFL frame at six-foot-three and 240 pounds. The Eagles would be wise to keep him around.
DL/LB James Vaughters, Chicago Bears
The pass rusher has moved from defensive end to outside linebacker to fit Chicago’s 3-4 defensive scheme. He’s still been effective with the Bears, recording two sacks this preseason.
The former Stampeder is in direct competition with Laval product Mathieu Betts, the third overall pick of this year’s CFL draft.
REC D’haquille ‘Duke’ Williams, Buffalo Bills
Williams has caught two touchdown passes this preseason, using his large frame to win 50-50 balls. That should help him make a Bills roster that lacks size in the receiving corps.

Buffalo added a pair of high-priced free agent receivers this off-season, but the former Edmonton Eskimo has shown he can make a difference with the Bills.
