Jones was released by the Tabbies in late June. He had been signed as a free agent during free agency in February. He played in two games for the Tabbies prior to being cut.

The 25-year-old was selected in the first round, fourth overall during the 2016 CFL draft by the Toronto Argonauts. Jones has played 36 games recording 14 catches for 148 yards and one touchdown. He’s played special teams as all making nine tackles and blocking one punt.
