Star Argos RB James Wilder Jr. won’t play versus Eskimos

James Wilder Jr. won’t be in double blue Thursday night in Edmonton.

The Argos have placed Wilder Jr. on the one-game injured list. Wilder Jr. has started five games at running back for Toronto in 2019 producing 161 rushing yards on 38 carries and hauling in 26 passes for 260 yards and two touchdowns.

Brandon Burks steps in for Wilder Jr. The 25-year-old made his Argos debut last year. He’s recorded 54 carries for 328 yards and 18 catches for 125 yards and one touchdown in 10 career CFL games.

Corey Chamblin’s crew is trying for their first win of the season in Edmonton. The Argos currently sit last in the league with an 0-5 record.
